Anything new? A lot has happened since my last post. For one, I might not be using the word ‘yinz’ anymore. I am moving to Tucson, Arizona soon! Today I am reviewing Karina dresses. The vintage style dresses are versatile enough to wear in both urban Pittsburgh and in a desert full of Saguaro cacti.

In preparation for my move to Arizona, I gave away a lot of clothing. It was quite sad to do, because I loved my collection. However, the climate in the Southwest is dramatically different than the Northeast! I kept wishing items would be comfortable to wear in both climates. Enter Karina dresses! Lightweight, stretchy, no wrinkles, and super cute. I found dresses for both climates, yinz! It’s all in how you style and layer them.

If you follow me, you know a good classic retro style always has a place in my wardrobe. You might also remember me singing songs of praise on repeat to clothing that feels like pajamas. Karina Dresses definitely have that throwback, but not in a way that feels costumey. Sophisticated enough for the office, but durable enough to throw in your backpack while you travel the world.

Karina Dresses have select styles from XS – 4X. If you check the Karina dresses website, you will notice the variety of ages and sizes of the models. That is so refreshing. I am plus sized and in my 30s, so when I see companies hire models that fit my size and age demographic, I know that they care about me as a consumer.

The dress I chose is Golden Rod in their Ruby cut from their new Mid-Century Modern collection. I went by my top measurement in the size chart because I live that smaller top larger bottom life. The material has stretch to accommodate for my more ample hips and lower belly. I am wearing a size 2x. This size is perfect for me. This particular dress goes up to a 2x, however there are other Ruby cuts in sizes 3x and 4x.

I take multiple trips a year (did I tell you I’m going to Northern Sweden later this week?) and I have to say these dresses will be GEMS to take with me on my upcoming travels. Throw them in your luggage and take them out wrinkle free. For real. That might be why Travel + Leisure Magazine named Karina dresses “The Perfect Travel Dress“.
